You keep saying to yourself, “This is not what I wanted,” or “I should be able to handle this myself.” Matt helps men, couples, and families with teenage and young adult children explore vulnerability and new ways of relating so they can experience life and relationships differently. Instead of focusing on who is wrong, he highlights the patterns of emotional reactivity so you can relate differently and help your relationship build the connection and intimacy you want. In addition to his relational work, Matt has experience working with various mental disorders, such as depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorder, and adjustment disorder.

Some of the therapeutic interventions, theories, and assessment models that Matt uses most frequently in therapy include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Attachment Theory

  • Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT)

  • Bowenian/Multigenerational Therapy

  • Experiential Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Structural Family Therapy

Matt is a graduate of the Wheaton College Marriage and Family Therapy program (2026), holds his limited license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Michigan, is pursuing certification in Attachment-Based Family Therapy, and is a Prepare/Enrich Certified Facilitator.
