Christian Therapy
If you are struggling with issues related to faith, doubt, or if you want to incorporate your faith into the counseling process, our team of trained and licensed therapists offer Christian or faith-based therapy.
The Process:
-
1. Reach Out
Reaching out for support is the first step in the healing process. We were created to be in community, and we do not need to suffer alone.
-
2. Start Therapy
Let your therapist know how you would like to incorporate your faith into the counseling process.
-
3. Integration of Faith and Counseling
Our team of trained and licensed therapists are trained to use empirically based models of treatment, such as CBT, and integrate your faith and beliefs into those treatment modalities.

Church Partnerships
Ministry work can be hard; let us help lighten the load
Church Partnership Services
Referral Partner
Whether you just need a solid referral point for your congregants or you are interested in supporting your congregation with discounted professional therapy, we can work to create the perfect partnership for your needs.
A good rule of thumb: if a congregant is seeking emotional support meetings on more than two occasions, refer them to a professional therapist.
Preventative Sessions for Church Staff
Burnout is the number one reason people leave ministry work; and it is preventable!
Our monthly or quarterly preventative sessions are meant to be consistent confidential check-ins for staff, allowing them to have set-aside time to focus on themselves and their needs.
Our aim is to come alongside staff as an impartial listening ear and sounding board, allowing them to unload and leave feeling refreshed.
Workshops
We are all always learning and growing. Our workshops can be tailored for entire congregations, for church staff, or church leaders.
Workshops can be half day or all day, depending on need.
✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

Our costs vary on size of the congregation or the size of the church staff and the service we are providing. Reach out to discuss what you are looking for, and we will discuss the price with you!

Absolutely not! We are all about meeting people where they are at. We collaborate with you based on your goals for therapy.

Some members of our staff have either been pastors, been on church staff, or we were married to a pastor! Pastoral counseling can be a great first step in seeking help. We greatly appreciate the pastoral care that is given to people who are struggling. However, most pastors are not trained to offer professional counseling services. Pastoral counseling offers a chance for someone to feel seen, heard, and gain insight into their faith. Christian counseling goes a step further by offering skills and professional counseling services with a focus on your faith.

If a local Church in the Lansing or Mid-Michigan area wants to partner with the Counseling Center of Great Lakes, we would offer your congregants a discounted rate for therapy. This could mean we waive their co-pay if they choose to go through insurance or we give a discounted rate if they are private pay. The Church would partner with the Counseling Center of Great Lakes by providing a monthly service fee in order to be able to offer those lower rates for individuals in the congregation. It’s a great way to offer counseling services to your congregation!

Our licensed therapists have partnered with several churches in Michigan to offer mental health support for church staff through individual counseling or speaking at staff meetings to teach the staff skills to manage stress and anxiety.

We want to be a place where the local church can come to when they are seeking education on mental health or wanting to offer a way to support their congregation with something they are going through. These workshops can be customized to what you are looking for including “How to Support our Students Who Are struggling with Stress and Anxiety” or “Social Media and the Negative Effects it Has Had on Our Kids.” These are just some of the examples of ways we have offered workshops to churches in Michigan.
