Services

In-Person | Lansing

At the Counseling Center of Great Lakes, we understand that everyone has unique needs, which is why we offer both in-office and telehealth options to support you in the way that feels most comfortable. We believe that consistency and predictability are vital for your progress, so we schedule sessions at the same time each week to create a stable foundation for your journey. You're not alone in this process, and we're here to help every step of the way.

Online Therapy in Michigan

We understand that life can sometimes get in the way of in-person therapy, whether due to health issues or other commitments. That’s why we are licensed to provide virtual therapy services to clients throughout the state of Michigan. Online therapy is a compassionate option that allows you to prioritize your mental health from the comfort of your own home. This flexibility not only helps ensure you stay on track with your therapy but also allows you to avoid cancellation fees. We’re here to support you.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is effective in reducing feelings of isolation, creating a sense of community, offering diverse perspectives, and fostering empathy and support. That’s why our team of trained and licensed therapists leads specialized therapy groups. These groups focus on various areas of expertise, provide valuable skills, offer support, and connect clients with a caring community—all working together toward hope and healing.

Insurance Partners

We understand that seeking therapy is a courageous step towards improving your emotional health and resilience. At the Counseling Center of Great Lakes, we are committed to supporting you on your journey, ensuring that each session is a meaningful step toward achieving your personal goals.

We also recognize that financial considerations can be a concern. That’s why we offer a sliding scale for private-paying clients and are proud to be in-network with many insurance providers in the Lansing and Mid-Michigan area. We are here to help you find the best path forward, both emotionally and financially.

What if we are out of network?

We are in-network with many insurance providers in the Lansing and Mid-Michigan area. However, it is possible that we may be out-of-network for your specific plan. If this is the case, you may still be able to use your insurance to see our team of therapists.

What does Out-of-Network Mean for You?

Many insurance companies understand the financial burden of therapy and provide reimbursement for Out-of-Network (OON) services, which can help cover a portion of your session fees. While the specifics may differ between plans, this can be a valuable resource in helping to ease the cost of your therapeutic journey.

The process can feel a bit overwhelming, so we have created a downloadable Insurance Reimbursement Guide to walk you through the steps. It includes details on how to check your benefits, what to ask your insurance company, and how to submit claims.

Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) at any time. This estimate clearly outlines your expected costs based on a typical therapy schedule. When you are paying “out-of-pocket,” you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate.

While we typically start with a 12-session plan, many clients find value in continuing their therapy beyond the initial period. Please keep in mind that additional sessions, extended session lengths, or crisis appointments may increase your total costs.

The information outlined in this Good Faith Estimate (GFE) serves as a preliminary estimate, and actual items, services, or charges may vary. If there are any changes to the services, you will be informed prior to incurring any fees. Clients have the right to pursue a dispute resolution process if the actual costs of services substantially exceed those stated in the Good Faith Estimate (GFE). Please note that the GFE is not a binding contract and does not obligate you to receive psychotherapy from the Counseling Center of Great Lakes.
